The brief
G&G Digital’s premises in Highlands North is a heritage Cape Dutch house. The goal was a complete overhaul that kept the character of the original building and turned it into a modern, efficient workplace with room to grow.
What we did
We consulted with the client on the design and layout, drew up the plans and took them through the heritage and council submissions to approval, including liaising with the heritage council for the committee’s physical inspection of the property. We also prepared the finishes schedule and procured selected suppliers and installers.
- The heritage structure, with its white Cape Dutch gables, was kept and modernised.
- It now flows into a new double-volume wing with a mezzanine office level under the pitched roof.
- Light, open-plan offices with white walls and timber-look floors.
- A reception lounge, a boardroom and meeting rooms for client visits.
- A fully fitted kitchen and breakaway area with a breakfast bar.
- Outdoor spaces, including a courtyard and the pool garden.
The result
An incredible fusion of old and new: a heritage building that keeps its character on the outside, with a bright, modern office inside.
