- Client Private homeowner
- Location Greenside, Johannesburg
- Project Heritage home renovation
- Our role Design and complete overhaul of the home
The brief
A heritage “railway” house in Greenside that needed a total overhaul: bringing it up to date for modern living while respecting the character of the original home.
What we did
- A spectacular covered patio that wraps around the entire house and leads into the lounge, dining room and media room, so indoor and outdoor living flow together.
- Patterned floor tiles, face brick and timber on the patio, in keeping with the age of the house.
- Refreshed bedrooms with light finishes and natural light.
- A renovated bathroom with a freestanding bath, a walk-in shower with stone-look tiles and a vessel basin on a timber vanity.
- A garden setting with a pond beside the outdoor living area.
The result
A heritage home that keeps its character but now works like a modern home, with the covered patio at its heart.
